Introducing our newest ministry initiative! "Church Vitality" with Rev. Dr. Jeff Patterson~~~

The Rev. Dr. Jeff Patterson is joining the Isaac Ministries Team!

We are thrilled to have Jeff Patterson join our ministry as an Isaac Ministries Consultant, offering of himself to the Body of Christ for the work of preaching, teaching, mentoring, and consulting in church vitality and growth. His deep commitment to the authority of Scripture and passion “to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ” (Ephesians 4:12), have characterized his ministry. His personal mission statement is to help others grow up into “the fullness of Christ” (Ephesians 4:13).

Jeff is a native of Gastonia, North Carolina. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in history and religious studies from Belmont Abbey College, a Master of Arts in religious studies from the University of North Carolina-Charlotte, a Master of Divinity from Duke Divinity School, a Certificate in Biblical Studies from the Israel Bible Center, and a Doctor of Ministry specializing in church renewal from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Jeff’s mentor for his doctoral work was Dr. Richard Lovelace, well-known historian of church renewal movements and author of the classic,The Dynamics of the Spiritual Life: An Evangelical Theology of Renewal(1979). The last congregation that Jeff served as Senior Pastor was Wesley Memorial Methodist Church, High Point, NC, a 2,200-member congregation, which under his leadership received 400 new members.

Ordained in the Anglican tradition, Jeff presently serves his diocese as a Canon Missioner in areas of church growth and vitality. As a grateful native of North Carolina, Jeff has served churches for almost 40 years throughout his beloved home state (Greensboro, High Point, Charlotte, Archdale, Franklin, Shelby, Kernersville). He has also been an adjunct instructor at various colleges including Gardner-Webb University.

Jeff is also a Paul Harris Fellow in Rotary International. He has served as a Trustee of High Point University in North Carolina, one of the fastest growing universities in the USA. Jeff’s passion for history is also expressed through his membership in the Sons of the American Revolution.

Church history, biblical studies, and spiritual formation have been significant emphases of his ministry. Along with professor and Rear Admiral (ret.) Terry Eddinger, Jeff co-authoredTo the Cross and Beyond(Westbow Press, 2026). As someone devoted to proclaiming the historic Christian faith to a skeptical age, Jeff also is a devotee of C.S. Lewis. In 2015, Jeff founded and continues to lead the C.S. Lewis Society of the Triad in North Carolina. He and his wife, Tammy, enjoy traveling and have been to many countries in the world. Jeff particularly likes to teach Christian history while traveling in Israel, Greece, Turkey, Italy, Jordan, England, Scotland, Ireland, Northern Ireland, France, Switzerland, and Germany. He is particularly passionate about helping Christians experience the Holy Land. Jeff has had the joy of leading over 500 people on pilgrimage to Israel.

Jeff is married to Tammy Griffin Patterson, a Registered Nurse who has spent years working in hospice care. They have two grown children, Elizabeth (husband, Dan), and Caleb (wife, Emily), who are married and who recently presented Dr. and Mrs. Patterson with their first granddaughters, Molly and Nora, respectively. His best furry friend is his dog, Jacksie, who is of course named after C.S. Lewis.

We are excited to announce that Rev. Byron Alexander is joining Isaac Ministries as Associate Evangelist for our Missional Discipleship initiative.

In this role, Byron will help plan and lead both local and international mission events, while also preaching, teaching, and supporting the broader mission of Isaac Ministries. With his dynamic preaching gift and extensive experience in youth ministry, pastoral leadership, and missional discipleship, Byron brings valuable expertise and passion to our team.

Director of Discipleship

Isaac Ministries is thrilled to announce Susannah Pittman as our new Director of Discipleship, leading the transformative “To Grow” initiative. This ministry is dedicated to reshaping the spiritual landscape of local churches by equipping congregations with training, resources, and ongoing support to foster vibrant cultures of discipleship. Susannah’s passion for nurturing spiritual growth and building Christ-centered relationships will inspire and empower churches to deepen their faith and connection with one another.
Susannah brings 18 years of pastoral experience from churches in Alabama and North Carolina, with a focus on Adult Spiritual Formation and Congregational Care. She holds degrees from Mary Baldwin University, Candler School of Theology at Emory University, and a Master of Arts in Counseling from Wake Forest University. An ordained Elder in the South Carolina Conference of the Global Methodist Church, Susannah resides in Greenville, SC, with her husband, Lonnie, Senior Pastor at Buncombe Street Methodist Church, and their teenage son, Preston.

In the final months of 2025, Susannah will work with Andy Lambert to lay the foundation for God-sized, Holy Spirit-empowered, Christ-centered impact in 2026 and beyond. We are eager to see how God will move to transform lives and communities. We pray and believe that many of you reading this will be a part of these upcoming, life changing ministry.
